So we are well ahead of your time, some 12 hrs forward. Something happened already that you still need to find out. See, we get there first, so we already know! Just a bad joke because here in China today is tomorrow for you; confused already? Try paying the Mc Donald's delivery guy...
That brings to mind something I want to share with you, it just came up. It has nothing to do with Mac Donald's of course it has to do with the wisdom of my father's words. He wrote this and gave it to me about 20 years ago, and for some particular reason, it just landed on my brain:
Yesterday is already a dream,
and tomorrow only a vision.
But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness,
and every tomorrow a vision of hope
Wow. It means what you already know; live! live today!
Back to what I was getting at. We had our first contact with some doctors and nurses. If you remember my little anecdote titled "Lost in Translation", well, same thing! I hope my Chinese gets better, because their English is definitely not. They took blood samples from the baby to make sure everything is ok, and to determine the course of action. We will have results from the lab tomorrow, but we where just informed that her first IV injection will be tomorrow! Yes, she will receive the first batch of some million-count stem cells, the purpose of this whole trip.
After the first injection, we will expect two things, one of them, our first experience with modern medicine technology. I should mention we came here for a total of 6, hence the long 4-week stay and the reason we chose China; they have similar treatments in some other countries, but none had the quality and quantity like they do here.
The first thing we should expect is some changes in Marujita, which can result in improved motor skills or general behavior. Oh, by the way, Doctors have been already advised about the former Maruja and her speed for life, her unstoppable attitude, and so it was determined that the stem cell doses have to be limited so Marujita, can actually allow other people to talk.
The other important thing to expect here is that we will have a more clear picture in regards to what the other 5 injections are going to be like. If you have read about stem cell treatments at the very beginning of my blog, you will remember that stem cells can be injected via IV (intra vein) or directly to the spine, which they call lumbar injections. In short, lumbar injections affect more effectively our nervous system, which is what we are looking for. IV injections flow through the blood, deposit themselves, and basically generate almost original copies from those they find not to be working at optimal levels. This means they will go into places (organs for example) that need no treatment, but will definitely deposit where they are required and too, reproduce. At this point you might be asking yourself "wait, so diabetes can be cured? Alzheimer's can be cured? A heart attack can almost be reversed? A cancer cured? What?" An the answer is yes. Remember what I said before, you have the right to know and everybody does, so spread the word here, please.
Depending on her reaction to the first IV injection, we will know what follows and how many will be otherwise, lumbar. Only for the best in any case, but we are looking for more than that.
Today she will have her first physical therapy session, not different from those in Miami. In any case, is good in terms of stimulation because after tomorrow, she will start experiencing a fast development she did not get when she was in her mother's belly.
For those of you who are not aware of the situation of Marujita, there is nothing to worry about. She is a very healthy baby and in no way close to a critical condition or situation. The problem is, she did not eat very well before birth and some motor and behavioral skills where affected. She will be a perfectly normal baby, but we have to do this to literally "fill in the gap" and not let any detail out of play.
I am a man of science, a person who you could convince if you have enough proof and thought of every possible variable. I do not accept mediocre explanations or stupid excuses, I demand from people regardless we work together or live together. This is my chance to prove that if you believe in something almost as if was true already; if you can visualize your dreams and hopes and feel you've been already there. If you want something so bad and so strong, it is actually right behind you waiting for you to grasp. If you can do this my friend, having covered all possible variables, then let me be the one to just tell you, you are already there.
I will see you here tomorrow, or later, or whenever someone speaks to me in Chinese and I will answer with a face that looks like: ?
Whatever it is you are doing right now; whatever you are working on, striving yourself to be the best, just remember something, someone else is trying harder!
Love you all unconditionally!
JAJA!

Dear Tuto:
ReplyDeleteWhat a set of balls you and your wife have. My family and I, admire you guys, encourage to continue following your believe and journey, and definitely have our prayers, because my respect for you as a friend, man and ignaciano is already known by you and now by all of those who will read your blog. For all out there who will read your thoughts and will take advantage of your experiences written here, all your words will improve their lives, someway somehow they will thank you for passing it along. I thank you for doing it. With your blog you are giving back to too many to count and it will come back to you with the same intentions you are doing it or even in a better way. You are a man of science but God is watching you my friend, he will be there for your family. We love too my brother and if I can help you in whichever way, you already now you just need to pick up the phone and ask for it, I’ll be waiting if you need me. Un abrazo. Tu pana Ernesto.
You are a man of science, like I am (or should I say was?), but fortunately now you are being forced by unexplainable reasons to become also a man of spirit, faith and hope. - difficult and the beginning, but very fulfilling later -
ReplyDeleteIt is not contradictory my friend; if you cannot find a good explanation for the past, present or future just close your eyes and simply believe...
It feels even better when your dreams come true and you cannot explain why and how!
Do you think you are going to have a scientific explanation for whatever Maruja 1.0 is doing for Marujita to help her from above?
Now you are in a land of wisdom, surrounded by too many things you cannot understand (specially their english). Look around, above, below and behind for new answers, new inspirations, new horizons. Continue expanding your mind like you are showing us in your blog. The rest will come by itself.
If this experience can change Tuto's brick-head mind, it can easily heal MJL 2.0.
Keep it coming!
K
Right on the money K!!!! buena esa!!
ReplyDeleteErnesto, gracias hermano por tus palabras y más aún por ser más que un amigo, un ignaciano, un hermano.
"so Marujita, can actually allow other people to talk.", jajajaja coño Tuto me cague de la risa, What a goooood attitude my friend.
ReplyDeleteun abrazo y sigue asi
Stem cells are the life givers of human body. Their use in the right direction will lead to cure of many diseases. I think more support should be given for stem cell research across the globe.
